JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Color Product Manager is Rosco's most important link to lighting designers in theatre, film, broadcast, dance, and entertainment. You will guide Rosco in its efforts to support lighting designers with the best products possible. The Product Manager is a tireless advocate for the Lighting Designer and an evangelist of all things Rosco. The main focus of this position will be to seek out and develop new business in lighting. With Lighting Designers in architecture, theatre, film, broadcast, dance, and entertainment as the target clientele, the Product Manager will identify design projects that can successfully use Rosco products and will work to make sure that the lighting designer is aware of the advantages these products offer. Essential Responsibilities In order to achieve these objectives, the Product Manager will:Demonstrate an empathy for a designers' needs and work practicesCooperatively develop Rosco's strategy for managing Rosco's color IPDevelop color strategies for Rosco's focus marketsClearly understand product development and technology limitationsDemonstrate business acumen through the management of market price constraints and Rosco's needs for profitable business practicesTravel as needed both domestic and internationally to meet with designers, specifiers and vendorsSupport, encourage, teach and inspire Rosco sales teams, devising new tools and strategies for the groupWork with the marketing department to conceive and execute new tools, advertising, promotional and electronic initiatives target to lighting marketsForecast achievable sales targets, develop an annual marketing plan, and budget for product manufacturing and development expensesMeet regularly with lighting designers, educators, programmers, and rental shops to understand and predict changes in the marketplace as well as build relationships between these clients and RoscoDevelop and maintain Rosco's award winning range of color, working closely with lighting experts to expand the palette as neededEvaluate Rosco product offerings and make recommendations for changes or modifications to better serve the lighting communityContinually evaluate the competition's product offerings and devise strategy for combating them that serves end-users and dealersIdentify new product opportunities to meet the needs of designers and specifiersCoordinate with Sales and Marketing to insure we have the proper tools for promoting Rosco products to designers and specifiersMaintain a working knowledge of all Rosco productsParticipate in current trade shows and recommend new trade showsAct as educator and evangelist to all stakeholders Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.Business Acumen - Understands business implications of decisions; Demonstrates knowledge of market and competition.Ethics - Treats people with respect; Keeps commitments; Inspires the trust of others; Works with integrity and ethically; Upholds organizational values.Judgment - Displays willingness to make decisions; Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for decisions; Makes timely decisions.Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Sets goals and objectives.Professionalism - Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitments.Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.Innovation - Meets challenges with resourcefulness; Presents ideas and information in a manner that gets others' attention. Educational and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or 3-5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
