**External Job Description** CT Sales Specialist Role Description/Purpose:

Financial Responsibility:

Responsible for territory brand program sampling budgets allocated to consumer events, and POS printing expense allocations. Strict adherence to Diageo policy and budgets for personal Travel & Expense.

Management Responsibility:

Directly reports to the Sales Manager of Connecticut.

Key Outputs/Deliverables:

•Beat the Competition. Advance Diageo trade execution across account base by continually improving our retail share, of floor display locations, category management, share of window signs and feature advertising visibility.

•Weekly preplan appointment and objective schedule due prior to work week.

?Typical Day: First appointment 9am; 7-9 appointments; 30-100+ miles of travel from stop 1 to last

•Weekly report of sales driver accomplishments due each Friday.

•Weekly one on one check in for monthly goal progress with Sales Manager.

•Visit assigned customers in preset daily time bound route schedule weekly.

•Reports market specific information from trade and distributor to the Sales Manager weekly

•Execute 8 step sales call structure for all visits

•Use Diageo Direct web application to record each account check in, call event activity and opportunities. Maintain up to date account profile metrics. Organize with route planning check in function.

•Use Diageo Direct Survey application to audit monthly retail floor displays for Diageo products and competitors. Continuous improvement is expected each cycle. Merchandise displays using to set standard metrics.

•Deliver 90% of the monthly objectives as set by the Connecticut Sales Manager tied to Display, Window Signs, Distribution, Retail Ads, and Staff Trainings.

•Manage and execute all Diageo POS to include mass display pieces, case cards, counter units, and shelf talkers, across entire account base.

•Manage the distribution and visibility of our target brands within the assigned multi-cultural account universe

•Ownership of the activation and execution of account sampling events by working collaboratively with MKTG

•Builds strong relationships with customer base, distributor sales force, and Diageo CT team

•Acts as a Diageo ambassador to assigned accounts by selling and executing channel specific strategies

•Identifies and creates additional sales strategies to capitalize on market opportunities and drive incremental sales

•Owns competitive activity intelligence and reporting

•Communicates best practices with peers in the market.


* Minimum four-year college degree and 1 year of general sales and/or marketing experience.

* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

* Must possess exceptional teamwork, organizational, time management, communication, and account planning skills.

* Excels at presenting in front of small and large audiences.
