Job Description:

We are seeking a CDL Class A Driver to join our team! You will be responsible for safely operating a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). Responsibilities:Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck Drives truck to destinations Prepares receipts for loads picked up. Gives receipts to office personnel indicating job Is familiar with various transmissions Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions Loads and unloads truck. Operates a wheel loader Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water Performs emergency repairs, installing light bulbs, tire chains, wind shield wipers and spark plugs. Secures cargo during transit Perform labor when needed, ie., raking, shoveling, passing equipment Can pull a tag along (trailer) Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Driving Valid CDL-A driver's license Operate tri-axle dump truck safely and efficiently on public highways and in off-road situations to load, transport, and deliver ash, stone, and aggregate materials. Understand highway traffic and signals. Assure load is properly covered with appropriate tarp on canvas prior to leaving loading side. Vehicle Maintenance & Regulations Adhere to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as set forth by U.S. Department of Transportation. Maintain MSHA, OSHA, DOT and other company/governmental state rules and regulations. Inspect trucks to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Keep vehicle clean inside and outside. Inform Service Technician of any maintenance or repairs needed. Written & Verbal Communications Complete truck logs according to state and federal regulations Maintain telephone and radio contact with appropriate supervisor to receive instructions. Ability to work and communicate well with supervisors, truck dispatcher, truck drivers, heavy equipment operators and other employees.
