Job Description:

World Health Products-GAT is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment at our corporate offices located in Monroe, CT. This candidate will report directly to the CFO and work closely with the Accounting and Shipping departments and the entire sales team. This position will is responsible for daily accounting functions, journal entry preparation, balance sheet reconciliations and general accounting functions. RESPONSIBILITIES Preparation of monthly journal entries. Review and approval of month-end re-class journal entries Calculation of monthly Commission payments and facilitation of payments in a timely manner. Prepare monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations and necessary correcting entries on a monthly basis. Participate in monthly Balance Sheet review meetings with CFO and Controller. Assist in preparation and distribution of management and board reporting Assist in reconciliation of company transactions Preparation of schedules for internal and external auditors. Assist in preparing bi-weekly payroll Reconcile accounts and research discrepancies Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, variance analysis and discrepancies Assist in the annual audit Assist in the planning and execution of new accounting systems and procedures, and project upgrades Prepare various analyses, reporting and special projects for various departments as requested Check Customer orders for accuracy and completeness Ad hoc projects and analysis as required. Required Skills and Experience Bachelors' degree in Accounting required QuickBooks experience Minimum 4 - 6 years' experience in general accounting Highly proficient in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, v-lookup's, graphing) Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment Strong attention to detail Ability to balance multiple priorities, as well as maintaining a high level of accuracy Making positive and proactive contributions to decision processes (e.g., suggesting alternatives and more effective or efficient ways to work through processes). Ability to question the status quo. Establishing and benchmarking best financial practices for shared learning Self-starter that works well independently as well as in a team environment Ability to quickly adapt to new systems and process Familiarity with EDI processing preferred
