Sr. Software Test Engineer

Assignment Length: 6+ Months

Location: Danbury, Connecticut 06810

Candidates must be able to work on Butler America's W2 - No C2C

Position Summary:

The Senior Software Test Engineer will perform requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, verification, and validation for automated test equipment, test program sets, as well as embedded diagnostics test applications. Ideally test experience should include inspection pertaining to style, functionality and design specifications. Candidate must be an energetic, highly motivated individual with the ability to work off shift and weekend hours if needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Embedded software development
Software detailed design and coding
Ability to interpret Interface Design Descriptions and software requirements
API and Driver development experience
Write detailed test procedures
Perform qualification testing
Create test summary reports and documents revise as necessary to address customer comments
Provide Design for Testability input during design reviews
Generate documentation to company standards
Must be able to analyze complex embedded systems and create comprehensive test plans
Experience with C programming using a Windows environment (C++, Java, XML, Visual Basic, or Assembly)
Must be able to write functional test procedures and create automated test procedures
Ability to work with little supervision cooperatively with all personnel in the organization
Demonstrate proactive ownership of issues and problems
Ability to multitask to keep several projects on task, on time and on budget simultaneously
Able to convert technical and functional requirements into a software concept and architecture
Participate in customer meetings
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio

Basic Qualifications:

Must have Bachelor's degree in Software/Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in software design and/or software test engineering
Knowledgeable in both structured and object-oriented programming techniques
Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW graphical development environment
Familiarity with Microsoft Project
This position requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and retain a security clearance within a time period to be established by the Company.
This position requires the ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on an occasional basis. This position may require frequent sitting, standing and/or walking.
We operate on a 9/80 work schedule with core works of 80 hrs in 9 days and every other Friday off.

Client's portfolio includes uninterruptible power supplies for land, ship and rail applications, and vehicle power conversion and inversion products for military and commercial applications. Products include shipboard control systems and panels, high-performance networks, tactical displays, controllers, circuit cards, detectors/transmitters, and specialty reactor plant instrumentation and control equipment.
