Marketing, Midstream and Processing (MMP) shall maximise corporate value creation in Statoil's mid- and downstream business through safe, reliable and efficient operations. We are responsible for capturing the full value potential of all marketed and traded products such as crude oil, liquids and natural gas.

Job description

* The Principal LPG/NGL Trader at Statoil U.S. Holdings in Stamford, Connecticut will be part of a team responsible for equity and third party LPG and Light Ends trading in the North American market.

* The waterborne LPG duties of the position include:

* Sourcing LPG export cargoes from the US market into the global arbitrage book and selling import cargoes into the Americas market;

* Statoil US onshore equity and third party marketing, Shipping optimization and trading of Statoil time charter vessels;

* Working closely with North American Domestic Origination to develop long-term export opportunities from North America in line with the global LPG strategy and Ambition to Action;

* Negotiating short-term supply deals from the US market within the mandate of the Global LPG team and Trading Manager;

* Evaluation and execution of Shipping strategies as relevant for spot charters as well as Statoil time charter vessels;

* Developing Latin American markets in conjunction with the LPG, Light Ends, LNGL team as it pertains to the LPG global strategy and Ambition to Action;

* Maintaining key customer relationships with counter parties in North and South America;

* Contributing to and implementing trading strategies;

* Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen our business and create innovative solutions;

* And safe, reliable and efficient operations of marketing, Shipping and trading activities, especially in relation to LPG cargo activity in/out of North American market.

* The onshore LPG duties of the position include:

* Mont Belvieu C2, C3, C4 trading in conjunction with the North American Domestic LPG and Light Ends strategy and Ambition to Action;

* Execution for C2, C3, C4 MB hedging for the LLL LPG global arbitrage book for any and all North America export cargoes;

* And serving as back-up for North America Domestic LPG and Light Ends traders including equity trading, C5 physical and paper trading, and development of onshore supply chains.

* Work schedule is Monday through Friday; 40 hours per week; 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.


* Bachelor degree in finance, economics or a related field, plus 15 years of marketing, trading or shipping experience.

* In lieu of a Bachelor's degree and 15 years of experience, we will accept 17 years of marketing, trading or shipping experience.

* Experience must include, at least five years of experience with each of the following:

* (1) trading experience in the oil and gas industry;

* (2) experience with price exposure, risk profile, and risk/reward balance;

* (3) experience with trading instruments and commercial negotiations;

* (4) experience with Oil/NGL qualities, market fundamentals, HSE issues, and logistics, including storage and transportation.
