General Purpose

Responsible for the general accounting function including A/R, A/P, preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department.

  • Review, verify and process accounts payable transactions including research to resolve invoice discrepancies and issues

  • Performs cash management duties, including wire transfers/check requests, daily lock box deposits to multiple bank accounts, deposit review, draws, reconciliation, cash projections, monitoring cash accounts receivable balances

  • Generate and distribute A/R invoices and verify billing input

  • Receive and process payments

  • Daily and monthly reconciliation of multiple bank accounts

  • Follow up on collections

  • Audit and enter employee time and expenses

  • Prepare and input journal entries into general ledger

  • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts

  • Assist with the month end close, the preparation of monthly financial reports and the yearly audit

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls

  • Some HR and admin work (ordering office and kitchen supplies, mail and fedex processing, help coordinate interviews)

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices

  • Knowledge of finance principles

  • Knowledge of financial reporting

  • Previous experience of general accounting

  • Proficiency in relevant accounting software
