Job Description:

POSITION: Abilis, an organization serving the developmentally disabled in lower Fairfield County, is seeking to fill the position of Psychologist for its expanding Therapy Center programs located in Stamford, CT. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Licensure: Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with current CT License or license-eligible in CT Special Qualifications: Experience in the clinical treatment of children, adolescents and their families; expertise in psychological and educational evaluations. Clinic management, school-based or therapy center clinical experience preferred. Experience with special needs children highly preferred. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Psychologist for the Therapy Center is response for directing and managing the clinical aspects of the Center. This includes recruitment, training and monitoring of professional staff, developing and implementing appropriate therapies, treatment plans and assessments, and assisting with the marketing, business development, and management of the practice. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Serve as the Director of the Birth to Three's intensive autism services program (Little Learners). Responsible for organizing and conducting the Center's psycho-educational assessment and intervention service for its clients in their natural environment (home, community, school and Therapy Center) Provide comprehensive case management services to children and their families Provide clinical assessments and diagnosis of children and families. Collaborate with other discipline providers such as speech therapists to conduct multi-disciplinary evaluations and write reports. Develop clinical treatment plans and implement structured treatment approaches Chair and actively participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings consisting of behaviorists, speech therapist, occupational therapists as well as other providers. Provide individual and family therapy to children. Provide consultation to schools as necessary and requested Actively participate in the development and implementation of clinical training.
